Areas of Expertise

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups are designed to support individuals in developing new skills and strategies for managing their emotions, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.

  • During group sessions, participants will receive instruction and practice the following areas of expertise:

  • Emotional regulation: Identifying emotions, calming techniques, recognizing unhealthy patterns of behavior.

  • Distress tolerance: Learning to accept uncomfortable feelings without engaging in unhelpful coping behaviors.

  • Interpersonal effectiveness: Building assertive communication skills and learning how to express needs without compromising personal integrity.

  • Mindfulness: Focusing on the present moment and cultivating awareness of thoughts, feelings, and environment.

Cancellations

Individual & Couples Counseling
Please give at least 48 hours advanced notice prior to the scheduled session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in a fee.
Group Therapy
We keep our groups small and reserve treatment space based on the size of the group. Therefore, fees for group therapy are charged whether or not a client attends. As a courtesy to other group members, clients should make every effort to communicate any planned or unplanned absences with the group leader(s).
Inclement Weather
If the therapist decides to cancel your session due to inclement weather, you will be notified of the change via email, phone, or text.

No Surprises Act

As a patient receiving out of network services, you are protected from surprise/balance billing under the No Surprises Act.

If you are seeking medical or mental health care, you are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing the costs involved.

It is required by federal law that mental health care providers estimate psychotherapy charges for patients who do not have insurance or do not plan to use insurance to cover the cost of therapy. It is your right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the total costs associated with any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy.

Prior to scheduling a service, you have the right to ask your mental health care provider, and any other medical providers, for a Good Faith Estimate. You are entitled to an updated Good Faith Estimate any time the cost of services are expected to change. If the bill you receive exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by at least $400, you have the right to dispute it.
